“Celebration is something for people all over the world” – Dolores Sala Vive – Freixenet 1911
Ice Ice Cava Baby!
My review of the soon to be released new Friexenet Ice courtesy of Trnd…
If you’re looking for a favourite new drink this summer, than look no further. I’d like to introduce you toFreixenet ICE, the latest addition to the global spanish cava brand Freixenet!
This seriously stylish and sophisticated looking bottle in white and gold will be sure to add a touch of deluxe glamour to your party or event this summer. I love the design of the bottle as it looks beautiful and classy. I almost didn’t want to open it – but open it I did and I wasn’t disappointed. I’m a fan of light tasting drinks especially in the summer where I normally opt for Mojito’s, Apple Martini’s and classic Pimms and lemonade, and Freixenet ICE fits into this category perfectly. For people who already love a glass of fizz, you won’t be disappointed, just be prepared to have your bubbles served in a new way – over lovely chilled ice!
The original way to serve it is:
1 x wine Glass
3 x chunky Ice Cubes
1 x sprig of mint
Method: Add ice cubes to your glass, pour over refreshing Freixenet, add a sprig of mint to serve and voila your good to pose!
Now traditional sparkling wine drinkers may be questioning the use of ice as you may think it will impair or dilute the taste but rest assured cava connoisseurs, this drink has been blended to work perfectly with ice. And if you don’t believe me, here’s the science bit…
Freixnet Ice has been produced using the same traditional methods as Champagne but with a premium twist. Classic cava spanish grapes such as Macabeo, Xarel-lo and Paradella (Cava is spanish in case you didn’t know, with Champagne being French and Prosecco being Italian – you can thank me later) have been blended with sweeter Chardonnay grapes which tastes great over ice and ensures the taste is not diluted.
Since 1911, 5 generations of the same family have helped to make Freixenet what it is today (the Freixenet brand started with a marriage between Dolores Sala Vive who had in depth knowledge of winemaking and entrepreneur Pedro Ferrer-Bosch and is currently being run by their great grandson Pedro) so you can be assured they know what they are doing. This latest addition to the hit the Freixenet family is sure to be a winner. I’m looking forward to serving this up at my next summer get together or party as I know it’s going to be a hit with friends – not only just for the way it looks but for the refreshingly new way it’s being served. I can imagine it mixing well with fruits such as strawberries or apple or elderflower juice.
As this product is currently launching I’m not sure of the price just yet but I’ll update this page once I know.
Salud Freixenet and Trnd! I shall be buying this for celebrating summer days and nights!
